You are optimizing your vSphere environment. You are concerned about the performance of disk I/O. You want to configure vSphere to utilize the storage in an efficient manner.

Requirements:

On a specific ESXi host, configure the multipathing policy for a particular datastore to allow multiple paths to be concurrently active for I/O, such that bursts of I/O are rotated among each path.

Environment Information:

Datastore: VMFS-10
ESXi host: host-02.lab.local

Solution

To accomplish this task, the administrator can perform the following steps:

Navigate to Inventory > Host and Clusters.
Select host-02.lab.local in the inventory.
Navigate to Configuration tab >Storage.
In the Properties of the VMFS-10 datastore, select Manage Paths.
Change the Multipathing Policy to Round Robin.
